Chocolate Cake Takes the Cake

Dom DeLuise's Death by Chocolate Cake

Chuck's brother was visiting for the weekend, so I decided to make a tried-and-true dessert for him. Although this was the first time I personally have made this cake, it has been a favorite in the family for years. I used to request this cake from my mother for my birthday, and she was kind enough to ship me the cake when I moved to our nation's capitol. This cake is baked in a Bundt pan, which you can purchase for $15-20 at any store that has baking supplies (just go to Target). If you entertain often, this pan is definitely worth the purchase.

Dom DeLuise's Death by Chocolate

4 eggs
1 cup sour cream
1/2 cup water
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1 package of extra moist chocolate cake mix
1 12-oz package of chocolate chips
Powdered sugar, for dusting

1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.

2. Coat Bundt pan with Crisco and powder the inside of the pan with a thin layer of flour to prevent the cake from sticking.

3. Beat the eggs, sour cream, water, and vegetable oil in a bowl until smooth.

4. Add cake mix and beat until smooth.

5. Stir in THE ENTIRE BAG (you will thank me later) of chocolate chips.

6. Bake cake in the oven for approximately 45 minutes, or until cake is cooked through.

7. Let cake cool a bit, then take out of the pan and dust the top round side with powdered sugar.

8. Slice, serve, and enjoy!
