Food Truckin': sâuçá

Beef Shawarma
Hello, my name is Megan and am a foodtruckaholic I can not walk past a food truck without stopping in for a taste. It seems that in DC there is a food truck on every corner come lunchtime. This past Friday there were 3 food trucks parked near work and since Chuck was working nearby he joined me for lunch (he is an enabler in my addiction). We decided on one of the sâuçá mobiles, Pangea, a DC food truck offering healthy food from 6 regions of the world (the other mobile is the Saucalito). Sâuçá's menu includes saucas (wrap sandwiches), soups, and a long list of their signature sauces. TWSF arrived just after the truck was set-up, so we didn't even wait in line!

Pangea
We ordered:
Mumbai Butter Chicken - $7.50 (pictured below)
Cardamom and curry flavors with sweet heat and golden butter-sautéed chicken topped with basmati rice and toasted cashews.
Beef Shawarma - $7.50 (picture at top)
Slow-roasted in seasonings of the Middle East, topped with onions and Chimichurri sauce.

Mumbai Butter Chicken
TWSF (almost) always shares our food, so we were able to try a little of each sauca. Although we really liked both sandwiches, I preferred the Mumbai Butter Chicken and Chuck preferred the Beef Shawarma, making sharing even easier. TWSF was STUFFED at the end of this lunch and in a partial food coma the rest of the afternoon (I mean, it was a Friday). For a delicious and unique $7.50 lunch, I will definitely be trying more saucas in the future.
